Impact Travels Ghana
Ready for an adventure that actually means something?
Twice a year we take a small group of travellers to Ghana for an impact journey—a trip that’s not just about seeing a new country, but about understanding it.
During this journey you’ll get a close-up look at everyday life in both the vibrant south and the agricultural north. You’ll meet people who deal with tough climate conditions and limited resources, but who also show an incredible sense of resilience, creativity and warmth.
Alongside the challenges, you’ll experience the beauty: the community spirit, the rich culture, the colours, the flavours, the humour, the music—everything that makes Ghana so unforgettable. It’s an inspiring mix of learning, connecting and discovering. Not only will you return home with memories—you’ll return with perspective.
What you'll experience
Our itinerary offers a balanced view of Ghana: its well‑known highlights as well as the reality of daily life.
Southern Ghana
In the south you’ll experience a vibrant mix of culture, history and everyday life.
-
Fort Elmina, a historic site with deep significance
-
Kakum National Park, where we walk the canopy bridge high above the tropical rainforest
-
A relaxing break at Kosa Beach, with the chance for a refreshing swim

You will also spend time in Accra, Ghana’s energetic capital. Here you’ll experience:
-
The lively rhythm of an African city
-
Local markets filled with colours, crafts, spices and daily life
-
A glimpse of the city’s contrasts, where modern developments sit alongside traditional neighbourhoods.

Accommodation & costs
Throughout the trip, we stay mainly in simple but clean accommodations with air‑conditioning. To ensure comfort and balance, we include a few nights in more comfortable lodges where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s experiences.

All expenses are passed on directly. A provisional estimate is €2,250 per person, including:
-

-
Minibus rental + driver: approx. €450 p.p. (with at least 6 participants)
-

After an intake conversation with the participants, we prepare a detailed breakdown and confirm the final price.
Northern Ghana
In the north, we explore the cities of Tamale and Bolgatanga, and spend time where Ghana’s agricultural communities shape everyday life. A short safari in Mole National Park is also part of the programme.

We further visit several local initiatives that offer insight into regional development and community resilience:
-
Our shea butter cooperative in Chera
-
Our demo farm and training centre in Bolgatanga
-
A senior high school in Yagaba.

These visits offer meaningful encounters and a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges in northern Ghana. This region offers a rural perspective on Ghana, where daily life is closely tied to the land.
